Agreed - my point really is that when you consider the extremely high fees and the alleged manipulation, the return is not any better than a mutual fund, which is no better than throwing a dart.

Investors need to know that these vehicles are there for one purpose and that is to create extremely wealthy money managers. Of course, it fits right into US corporate culture where corporations suck in money from investors so that management can vote themselves obscene employment and severance packages, all the while promoting their company as accomplishing something.

In a way, that's why I like the micros better than large caps. At least the theft from shareholders is a bit more obvious and we can participate in price runs that make management look good.
