Higher gas prices are a long term good thing in my opinion. When gas prices get so high that they impact our behavior, maybe that will provide the impetus for our leaders to help us get off the oil habit.

Dude, be real careful what you wish for.

As far as Israelis getting evicted out of Gaza and WB, good riddance. It was a crime they were there in the first place.

The same righties who are promoting the wars in Iraq and Iran told the Jews to settle in Gaza. Thirty years later, those Jews are getting burnt big time. Learn their lesson.

As far as Iraq being winnable, they continue to make progress despite your worst wishes. They have achieved every milestone they have set for themselves. The one week delay on the constitution is a setback, but it's not a big deal in the scheme of things. Democracy and consensus building is a messy business. I know that doesn't fit in with your idealistic world, but that is reality. The Iraqis will get there. It's just going to take more time than you'd like to give them.
