Are you talking about American companies that have foreign workers and plants? The easiest way to track this is to look at the difference between GDP and GNP. The GNP measures goods manufactured anywhere in the world by an American company and subtracts the goods produced by foreign companies on American soil (a growing trend for foreign auto companies).
