It seems pretty clear that --- at best --- they appear to either lack much vision in the subject area of reducing America's energy vulnerabilities, or else be subject to political constraints holding them back from taking effective actions.... At worst, it might be speculated from the few policy actions they have taken... choosing, for example, to shovel great gobs of taxpayer funds in SUBSIDIES to mostly mature industries and dominant corporations (at a time when many of those same corps. are already reveiling in record profit levels because of much higher resource prices), that rather then achieve improved energy efficiency and competitiveness for the US economy, their primary goal appears to be to reward the armies of their political base... while actually slowing the emergence of competition for them....
