You can't go back on this kind of charge. It's like demanding a return to debtor's prisons. I usually recoil when someone uses "traitor" or "treason" when talking about an act. Jane Fonda comes to mind. You might feel that way, but you are looked upon as going overboard.

He's at as much of a loss as any one of us.


The values the last great war was fought over are sufficient:

Primacy of reason and democracy, that is, modernity.

There's no point in trying to over analyze a straightforward ideological conflict.

Support of reason and democracy are far more fundamental than patriotism.
