I saw far more "coffee shops" than anything and schwarma fast food places. Bunch of sex shops but visibly not much of that kind of activity in the supposed red light district. Frankfurt had much more going on in that department even was my impression.

Nobody sepking Dutch. Everyone assumes you must be foreign if you are in the center of Amsterdam. Was just there quickly in May between visiting Groningen (NE Netherlands) and Sweden. Overall I am not very enthusiastic about the Netherlands altogether. This was my second visit there. Last time was in Arnhem area in 2002.
