"I already said that the real faith of most atheists is in secular humanism"

Hmm, maybe what we have here is a different set of definitions. When I talk about "secular humanism", I mean a codified body of beliefs that was founded some time in the 19th century. Now I do know someone who identifies himself as a secular humanist, but he is an exception. Now I have known a lot of humanists, which is a pretty ill-defined set of beliefs, if any. Most just don't ascribe to any religion for a variety of reasons. I doubt if many would label themselves "secular humanists" because that would mean letting someone else define their belief system. Which sort of defeats their purpose.

FWIW, I've recently learned through my wife that "secular humanist" is also used to describe the writings of pre-Socratic philosophers.
