CLinton fired 300 Cruise Missiles at Bin Lauden. Obviously the intention was to kill him. Those missiles are a big deal. They cost 1.5 million apiece and we don't fire them lightly. CLinton would have ordered airstrikes, but Afghanistan is too landlocked and almost impossible for carrier based attack fighters to reach from the Indian Ocean. Clinton also formed a 24/7 Al Qaida desk run by Clarke in the White House. That proved his intention was to be vigilant. And it did lead to the stopping of the LAX bombing. Further, there was some kind of Pakistani hit team being organized to kill Osama in Afghanistan. Last but not least, Clinton's FBI were watching the Saudis in the US. All those Clinton measures were disbanded by Bush immediately upon taking power. Bush never mentioned terrorism. Never did a damn thing to avenge the USS Cole. Never responded to warnings about Al Qaida attacks. And called the FBI off the Saudis. Bush-Cheney may have even been allowing an attack to happen, whereby they could use it to justify an invasion of Iraq, which we now know was their intention well before 9-11. However, I'm sure they didn't expect such a big attack. I say "I'm sure" but who knows? These are the guys who lied to us to get us into a big fat war their pals get rich off. And the guys who cheated in at least two of the last three elections. So what would you put past them? Cheney sold nuke gear to Iran in the 90's. Their gang ran Iran-Contra. They backed the Enron phony energy crisis. So who knows?
