" I truly have to wonder what kind of person would want to put themselves and their family through that just to get an underpaying job." Some of it do it for their communities. A friend who is running for office said his boss thinks it will generate enough extra business for the firm to offset the missed labor hours. It reminded me that some people run for office for power and post office holding income potential. There are some who are crooks. There are some who are egalitarian.
