Thanks Tom would love to have an excuse to be out on the West coast sometime. I have spent many a time in L.A. and some in San Fran too but not up your way. That was mostly business related so my California days are probably limited now. These days I dream of the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.

BBQ'D Donuts. Try and source really good fresh sugar donuts. The basic cake donut with a granulated sugar coating. If the amount of sugar is skimpy, just fill a plastic bag with sugar and put the donuts in, blow a little air in there and then shake it all about!! Presto! Heavily encrusted donuts. For dessert turn your Q down low and put those puppies right on the grill. Watch carefully so they don't burn. Grill to a golden brown all over. The sugar will caramelize into a crunchy candy coating and the inside will be steaming cake. Don't burn your mouth!!! Serve with your favourite ice cream. coffee or french vanilla? Or just eat them as they are. A miracle moment of low brow cooking, I swear.

Cheers,
Ogi
