Supreme Court nominee John Roberts disparaged state efforts to combat discrimination against women in Reagan-era documents made public Thursday — and wondered whether "encouraging homemakers to become lawyers contributes to the common good."

Amy, he's from Buffalo, NY.....one of the few metro areas in the country losing population; one of the few metro areas where housing prices are declining........their median price is around $100K. My point.........don't expect too much from Mr. Roberts. Hopefully, he will grow in the job; if not, maybe it will be over his head and he will quit. <g>

Amy J,

A more telling quote:
He went on to say: "The generally accepted notion that the Court can only hear roughly 150 cases a year gives the same sense of reassurance as the adjournment of the court in July, when we know the Constitution is safe for the summer."

I am encouraged.
