Generally, I would say not to unless you live in an area where prices are overextended like LA or Miami. Housing prices tend to deflate slowly....not crash overnite.

As for Albany's housing prices going up, its due to the state capitol being there....it insures that there will be good incomes and provides an underpinning to employment. Plus, your proximity to NYC helps.

What's surprising to me is how badly Syracuse et al is doing.
