Nicely said. However, the same thing is true about people on the radical right. The right wing political machinery does not have a lock on righteousness. There is plenty of corruption on all groups where political power is the sought after prize. The best we can hope for is to identify that rare breed of politician who actually believes in standing up for decent causes, and support that person before the insidious forces of political machination infect the poor soul by making him/her their leader.
