Z,

Why is that a pathology?

Pathology is living a live of envy of of hate of the Joneses.

I make five+ times as much money as someone who works full-time scrubbing toilets for a living. Do I work five times as hard? Am I five times as educated? Do I have five times his IQ?

That's a much simple problem to remedy. Let me give you a few suggestions:
1. Get a job scrubbing toilets
2. Give 4/5 of your pay to a person scrubbing toilets
3. Pool the earnings with the person scrubbing toilets and than split the pool in half
4. Give 4/5 of your income to the treasury for income redistribution

You can do all those things voluntarily. Today. And I take it you think it is a good idea and will do it voluntarily. You would not ask government to compel you to do things that you can do voluntarily.

Conversely, you would not ask government to compel others to do things that you are not willing to do voluntarily.

Joe
