A mile is eight city blocks; how many officers/soldiers does it take to secure eight linear city blocks, multiplied by 2000 miles? The Mexicans are not the problem, the problem is the people that hire the Mexicans to save a few $'s in labor cost. They are criminals, breaking US laws. They are the offering meager wages that the Mexicans are willing to risk their lives for. I don't know how it is in FLA but in LA, the OC, SD, SFO etc, 50-100 illegals stand outside a Home Depot or major paint stores or a Tru Hardware store, etc waiting to get work. People drive by and then hire them to put up a fence in their yard or paint their garage. Many others are seasonal workers who pick crops. Most major employers refrain from hiring them for fear they will be caught by INS. ted

John, You have already covered it. 1. Hit the employers. 2. Eliminate the baby in US-citizen law 3. I'd add...Make local law enforcement check for papers. If ordinary people want to beef up the border that's OK too. PS...I see Bush-homeland security wants Americans to show passports rather than drivers licenses and birth certificates when day tripping over the border and back. Yet he ignores the open borders. Who is he trying to kid?
