Actually, they most likely deeply believe they are doing the right thing All censors think that. The major causers of misery in the 20th century, [Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao] were doing it for our own good. So the University bureaucrats really hate it when they find out that speech codes are illegal. You used to be able to get away with it, but not anymore. FIRE is too well funded and organized now. It's "summertime" and FIRE is not doing much. As their lawsuits start emerging this fall, I will point some info on them your way.
