I'm all in favor of criminal penalties, however the way you get them criminally today is to first sue under the FOIA and when the judge rules that the documents have to be turned over and they still don't turn them over, then you have them on contempt of court at a minimum.

This would be a great boon. As we have discussed, the Constitution and the writing of our Founding Fathers makes it clear that everything written by government should be made public. It would be very interesting to see which of our elected officials have been most vigorous in requesting IRS audits of rival charitable organizations.
