Increased efficiency and increased supply (if necessary) probably did not cross their minds. (It does not fit their ideology). BTW, New York Times was the most zealous about closing a newly built nuclear plant at Shoreham, NY. Their ideology required them to. Their complaints about oil prices may seem a little inconsistent - but for ideological zealots, consistency is not required. while properly targeted job growth and savings incentives - not tax cuts for the rich - could have built a stronger job recovery I wonder if there is a single problem in the universe that, according to NY Times could not be solved by increasing taxes on the "rich"...
