Interesting post, Texas....welcome to the light.

As a young boy the only republican I knew was an uncle that didn't want to be associated with the kind of people that voted democratic. It took quite a few years before the meaning of that filtered through, but your quotes are fine examples of statements(and people) worthy of disdain.

Welcome to the Right way of thinking..and thanks for supporting your country.

Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”
-Former President Bill Clinton

Clinton didn't know what an exit strategy was until the military ask him what his was...of course he had none.
He said, "Goooolllyyy how am I suppose to know that?"

Glad to see you have seen the light. The examples you give and many more are why I cannot comprehend any American being a Democrat anymore. Like Zell Miller has said, he didnt leave the Democratic party, it left him. Politics SHOULD stop at the border. Thats the way it always was right up to Vietnam, since then its been all downhill. Our potential enemies know that, and they know further that if they can just HOLD ON sooner or later the American Left Wing supplemented by the Liberal media will convince us to retreat. So, we have to battle forces that we would never have to battle were it not for them. jdn

Good for you... and welcome to the right world... I was a demohack much of my life, but those political hacks kept moving further and further to the left until they finally went completely off the radar screen, I didn't really leave them, they left me... I'm always amazed at how anti American the demohacks of today really are, they put politics before national security...

After rereading the hypocritical hubris of both Clintons I applauded myself once again for knowing early on that they are made of shifty stuff indeed. Incredible how they forgot Mogadishu and Bosnia?

Not to mention some of those other hypocrites on your list.

“If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy.”
-Hillary Clinton(D-NY)

“Well, I just think it’s a bad idea. What’s going to happen is they’re going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years.”
-Hillary Clinton (D-NY)

“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”
-Former President Bill Clinton

It is interesting that people tend to become more conservative as they gain wisdom.

I made that realization back in 1980. Jimmy Carter's stance on our hostage situation in Iran was all it took.

Quotes from when President Clinton committed troops to Bosnia:

"You can support the troops but not the president."
--Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)

"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're
going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years."
--Joe Scarborough (R-FL)

"Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come
home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?"
--Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99

"[The] President . . . is once again releasing American military might
on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy.
He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And
he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will
be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign
policy."
--Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)

"American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the
administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign
policy."
--Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)

"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have
a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
--Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W Bush

"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning . . I didn't
think we had done enough in the diplomatic area."
--Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)

"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is
often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just
learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with
very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later,
these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of
engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of
victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no
clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended
military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests
are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President
started this thing, and there still is no plan today"
--Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)

"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to
explain to us what the exit strategy is."
--Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)

Funny thing is, we won that war without a single killed in action. And,
the Democrats aren't pointing this out with their every breath.

I don't hang around as often as in the past, so I am just reading your post. My first comment is ...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

My only thought at this point is that we cannot just walk away from Iraq OR Afghanistan. Remember Somalia, Beruit, etc....

having said that, Bush is by no means perfect, I hope he does something about our borders, but it does not look as if we will, and and on another subject, I now think that the death penalty should be revisited, and possibly banned until such a time when there can be no doubt of guilt.
