In fact, almost all of our districts are long and skinny... gis1.tlc.state.tx.us The politics are different. We only let our legislature meet every two years, and even at that they don't meet very long. Their primary duty is the budget, everything else is secondary. Except, of course, when DeLay mobilizes them to help the Republican party...
