"I don't think there is such a thing as "safe sex," especially not with a prostitute."

There are risks in having a sandwich or in breathing air, too. I think that sex with a regulated prostitute (such as in the Nevada brothels) must be safer than with ones wife. After all...the wives are exposed to all the sexual partners of the husband--as well as to their own. In the aggregate--how health conscious are they--and how frequently do they have thorough check-ups? Many STD's (especially in women) are virtually undetectable apart from a professional examination.

True monogamy would be safest for avoidance of STD's; but studies show that even those who marry with the intention of being monogamous--rarely meet their own expectations.
