Certainly the notion that someone posted here, that 90% of all academics are Dems cannot possibly count. Those numbers require some examination. But even if true, I know you wouldn't claim that is evidence of the prevalence. If you keep it to liberal arts academics, I think the number holds. How many are hard left and preaching it to their classes? Enough to make a splash. I expect liberal arts academia to be liberal. But they have swung too far, and will be forced back. I say "forced" because they will never hire anything but people who think like them if they can. You can see from the outpouring from other posters that this subject is a flash point here. We might as well move on.
