SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Intellisync Corporation (Nasdaq: SYNC - News), the leading developer and marketer of platform independent wireless messaging and mobile software, today announced the appointment of wireless technology executive Scott Hrastar, as senior vice president of technology. Widely known and respected in the technology industry as a leading innovator in wireless networks and corporate IT security, Dr. Hrastar has over 18 years of experience in communications architecture, network management, wireless protocol development and mobile network security. He is also the author of 30 patents in these industries. Hrastar was recently recognized as one of InfoWorld's "Top 25 CTOs," who were selected for demonstrating innovative technical accomplishments, results-driven vision and range of influence both inside and outside their companies. Dr. Hrastar joins Intellisync from AirDefense, where, as co-founder and chief technology officer, he was responsible for architecting the company's flagship product, the industry's first security and management appliance to monitor and protect WLAN airwaves. Prior to founding AirDefense in 2001, Dr. Hrastar worked with Lancope, an innovative company focused on advanced intrusion detection for traditional wired networks. His career experience includes leading technology development roles with Scientific-Atlanta, Pathfire and Hitachi Telecom. Dr. Hrastar earned a B.S.E.E degree from Ohio State University and earned both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
