Just so you thread guardians don't think I'm a hater of all hedgies, the more I read about Mr. Pink's methods and approach leads me to believe that the need for similar activist funds is high and that the opportunity to profit from management inefficiency, excess and incompetence follows. His letters attached to SEC filings have been priceless.

However, that doesn't change my views that manipulation is wrong irrespective of whether it is on the long side or the short side, and whether it be done by touts, management, mutual funds or hedgies, and that more lights have to be applied in this rapidly growing world of hedgies and their relationships in the chain of stock transactions and information flow.

It also doesn't change my opinion of the ostriches or attention diverters who seem to claim there is no manipulation, no schemes, no real reason to change the status quo, in this trilion dollar world.
