Christ said when a man strikes you on the cheek you should turn the other. He did not say anything about a sadistic culture that wants to brutally murder you by sawing your head off slowly. I do not think he imagined that there would ever be a religion that believed in killing all that were not members. How can one justify being pacifist in that environment. Dead is dead; one cannot turn the other body.
