There are two factors I consider important.

"(1) Intel. Lots of clout in the financial sector."

Yeah, and apparently INTC has not been opposed to using that "clout" illegally as in abusively, battering any AMD friendly OEM's in the channels unmercifully into oblivion or states of INTC-stupor. Hopefully, the law suit lodged by AMD may help to eliminate illegal use of clout in the marketplace.

But yes, that INTC clout has, and continues to be, AMD's most formidable barrier to growth. Heck, were it not for this formidable barrier, AMD with its superior performing product lineup would by now have 30% share.

"(2) Wall Street. Even if an excellent company has a rosy future with a good bottom line, it still does not mean that the sharks on Wall Street will not manipulate the stock price. AMD's stock price has already seen a healthy appreciation. A possible quicksand mire for new investors."

Posiible to be sure, but how likely? That's the question that needs be answered by any potential investor.

I like the prospects of very healthy servershare gains going forward, increasing mobileshare, potential continuation of Q2 turnaround in flash and seasonality going into the next 4 months, all of which may cause a nice little bump up in AMD price over the next little while, not unlike what we witnessed in each of the Aug - Nov periods in each of the preceding 2 years. I'm invested/investing accordingly.
