i would look at clinton adm for getting us into this mess and the democrat party. It certainly wasn't the republicans who fought an energy bill for the last four years.

it wasn't the republicans who fought against refineries fixing up a section but democrats and clinton who passed a bill to make them clean up all of the operation vs one section. thus forcing some to close or more investments off shore.

clean air act. who's bright idea was it to let electric companies switch to natural gas generation only vs investments or tax credits for cleaner coal processing or heavy fuels.

None of these people did the little guy a favor. they hurt the lower income person now with higher home heating and electric bills, and possibly contribute to higher gasoline costs by holding off building more nuke plants.
