What sort of hesitation? Progressive taxation is not "socialist."

Same recipe. You can make your taxation as progressive as you want (in upward direction). You don't have to wait for the law to change.

Just tell me how progressive you want the taxation to make, and I will help you with all of the calculation, as far as how much extra you need to sent to the Treasury.

Or, as I mentioned, you can go with a direct route and transfer the excess pay (you are not entitled to, according to you) to a more deserving individual. Advantage of this approach is that you avoid the overhead of the US Treasury dealing with your money, and more of the benefit goes to the targetted recepient.
