Unlikely. There are very few purely oil fired plants, if any. Now true, there are many that can use oil as well as natural gas and often coal. But the price of oil has been higher than either of the other two for long enough that I doubt if any of them have burned any oil in a while.

There is a great deal of overlap between oil and natural gas, and there is also a lot of overlap between ready made electricity (from another source) vs. either of oil or gas.

high level waste is pretty compact and can be stored. Yeah, at some point we need to figure out what to do with it, but that can wait.

But we already did figure out what to do with the waste: Yucca Mountain.
