I once thought things like this actually mattered. But now I know that they don't. It doesn't matter, the American people are just too damn ingorant and too complacent to care about what their government does in the way of illegality. The Bush cabal knows they can get away with anything. After all, they've had us in Iraq for two years after the WMD con was exposed.

They'll get away with it and even more. Iran is next. The neocons are beating the war drum against Iran. Their plan is to take Iran's southwest province where all the oil is. They'll bomb the hell out of Iran's defenses and move troops into Iran's southwest province to seize the oil. That is there intention. It's all going to fizzel soon though if the protests against Iraq grow too strong. So, they might just look for another pre-text to attack Iran. Don't be at all surprised if there is a terrorist attack around the anniversary of 9/11 and we're on the war path to war with Iran by the end of September.

9/11 saved Bush's ass. He was not considered a legitimate President going into 9/11. His poll ratings were low and slipping. 9/11 in some truly bizarre way, allowed Bush to look like a strong leader?!? Despite the fact that he didn't lift a finger to protect our country on the morning of 9/11/01. Despite the fact that we've spent trillions on our military and couldn't even defend the Pentagon with over one hour to do so. Despite the fact that he had 8 months in office to get on top of Al Queada and prevent such an attack. Despite the fact that it now appears that the government was tracking the 9/11 hijackers a year before. Despite the fact that the President was briefed on 8/5/01 about a pending Bin Laden attack and did nothing to heighten our security. Despite the fact that he led us into war on half-truths and innuendos.

It doesn't matter. Bush is a cult of personality figure with the American people now. They don't care what he actually does. It's the aurora of the Presidency that makes people think of him as a stronger leader. People are detached from reality.
