Yes I expect a down year for most stock mutual funds. Any gains in foreign markets will be offset by the rising dollar too.

I guess that is on broad market. Some stocks maybe will have the best month<g>

Absolutely. And last year stocks rose in September - but they been falling till then. It's just an average.

It's interesting there looks like a correlation between the size of these Asian markets and recent performance. The biggest markets (Japan, Aus, HK in that order) are strongest and places like Thailand and Jakarta are weakest.
