Ok Ted, I understand that you would like the US have the oil consumption and corresponding GDP per person to be somewhere between Sierra Leone and Tanzania, you have to understand that you are in a minority.


No, I would be happy to have the per capita consumption at the level of the EU. Why are we so over the top in terms of oil consumption?

Other than that, I could point you to re-read my post, but I would probably feel bad about making you worry your pretty little head with all the numbers and the funny sign like this: % behind them.

Hmmm. Let's see here. I used your figure for population; that the EU's population is 50% greater than the US's. Then you provided us with total usage of oil........I am quoting from memory here.......73 trillion BTU for the EU vs 97 trillion BTU for the US. If I did the math correctly, 97 is 33% bigger than 73; hence the US consumes 33% more oil.

Where am I incorrect?
