I have to agree with you about how the global economic outlook would be, but I think we could see still higher gas prices before that happens... one way or the other, the terrorists will have done their damage... we have to put an end to their efforts ASAP... GZ

Europeans have been paying high taxes for a long time, but they get universal health care, lots of childcare, paid university education, better roads, better overall infrastructure than we do here. Also, because of the high energy costs, Europeans, because they've learnt the value of conservation, don't guzzle gas quite like we do... I find it curious that few people comment on the fact that now that Iraq has been "liberated," it is producing less crude oil than when the country was threatening the United States with its WMDs. Good work Mr. President!
