Speaking only of hard disk-based players, I wouldn't argue that iPod's market dominance proves that the other players are inferior. I'd argue that the other players are inferior based on the fact that they are, without any exception I'm aware of, larger and heavier, and that they have less intuitive interfaces and less elegant integration with the host computer. The latter observations are subjective, I realize, but the former isn't.
