I'd make the clinical trial findings public so that the consumer can decide for himself to the extent possible.

In my ideal libertarian world, there would be no FDA. No patient can tell what he should take. It's just too complicated, and even the medical profession doesn't know for sure You have to rely on your medical advice. We all shake our heads at the TV caveats for drug advertising.

In the real world, it usually comes down to transparency, which is what you are suggesting.
