Wasn't that credit card interest deduction phased out in the late 1980's? It sure didn't do much to stimulate the housing market in the short run.

no actually, that is not quite accurate... but never mind that

the real problem however, is that people make such assumption and from there, it is easy for the do-gooders [never mind that it is do-gooders-for-nothing] convince the masses that paying taxes IS actuakky good and those who try not to.... are "unfair" (regardless of circumstances)

'tax the rich' is the war-cry of the hordes... never mind the "what for it is that tax is being used for" does not matter at all, or even is asked for....

i mean whose money is it in the first place ?
