I can not remember reading or hearing about one child in the 60's asking to listen to their parents music because there wasn't anything worth listening to on AM or FM radio 'nuf said.

Smart exploitation by marketers, too. Why is that Zeppelin song done over and over again in the Cadillac commercials for the past year? Doesn't have beans to do Cadillac, per se. The 20 year olds of 1974 weren't resonant with new Cadillacs at the time. But 30 years later, they're a new Cadillac's perfect target market, right age and income bracket. So play them something that defines "when only good music was made..."

15-20 years from now, you'll hear Eminem in a car or even exterior house paint commercial, betcha...
