There is a void in music today and people like Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton have both recently blasted their country's musicians about the lack of creativity and quality being produced today.

Its even worse than that. I was listening to a pop station yesterday that plays oldies (the only pop radio stations these days HAVE to play oldies because there is no more pop music-top 40 stuff to be had except RAP)-

I disagree somewhat with your assertion. I think there is good new music, but not within the big music publisher's world. I have quit being permanently "plugged-in" to radio music. I listen occasionally to a low-power college station. Their signal is noisy and not available to me at night because they have to cut-back on power. They have widely varying variety instead of playing the Clear Channel oldies favorites playlist for the 50th time in a week. Most of the college music is independent, including local artists, or foreign. A lot of it is junk, but fun to listen to, but most of it is good.

My other music venue is the iTunes radio that has a very handy selection of music types. If I'm working, I'll listen to Limbik Frequencies, Groove Salad, or maybe a foreign station.

There is good music but not on the local Clear Channel stations.

Hi Lizzie,

I don't know if this is too old for you, but PBS has a great 2 hr special on Sun Records (Elvis's studio) running right now.
