Haven't we condemned all Muslim mullahs for the comments by a few? They sure do, which is why people like Robertson get me so irate. re Chavez This is just one more example of a poorly formulated foreign policy by the current administration. Yep. Bush is inept diplomatically. But we all agree on that. As far as your general comments on the GOP, I agree. They are losing supporters. I just talked to a neighbor of mine yesterday whom I knew to be Republican and Catholic. I was not too surprised to hear her say that she will not be voting Republican in the next election because she can't stand what Bush has turned the party into. I think that view is becoming more widespread than most Bushies believe. Re my comments on developing central and south America, you said: In what way? We own most of their industries. What more development do you want? I'm not talking about economic development, although some of that will help. I'm talking about strengthening their democratic infrastrucutre by helping them figure out ways to reduce corruption, by helping them plan for transparency in their institutions, by helping them diversify their economies, by helping to reduce economic barriers between in our countries in a way that is mutually beneficial. There is a lot we can do to help and be helped by central and south America, if we had someone with a brain in the White House. Our goal should be to make central and south Americans love North America and for them to be our staunchest advocates, not our worst enemies.
