Cindy Sheehan deliberately choose to jump into the public arena, and to engage in attack politics herself (calling Bush the world's greatest terrorist is pure attack politics). If she's going to jump into the sewer, she can't complain that she's getting s#%^ thrown on her.

I'm not sure Cindy Sheehan has complained that she's getting s#%^ thrown on her. She's been largely absent from the public scene since she left Camp Casey to be with her ailing mother.

It's the others, for whom Sheehan is a proxy, who are complaining. You know who I mean, people like Maureen Dowd, who seems to think Cindy Sheehan has the moral high ground and is immunized from any criticism because she lost a son in Iraq

Apparently, Maureeen believes parents who lost sons and daughters in Iraq but who support the war are not entitled to claim that moral high ground.
