The problem with the neonuts "bad intelligence" excuse is its not true. Sure, there was bad intelligence, but the good news it was being sorted out in the weeks and months before the invasion. Agreed. But that was why Bush had to get the inspectors out and invade. Everything the Administration offered as "proof" was being knocked down. Conservatives don't care much how we got to war and what the truth or lies were. The end justifies the means. And they don't much care what the ends turn out to be. US military deaths are small potatoes compared to what the Iraqis are enduring. Iraqi civilian deaths are somewhere between an order to two orders of magnitude higher than the deaths of the US military. But Bush is pleased with the progress. jttmab
