Is that true? You certainly can't threaten to kill someone but it's ok to incite others into killing someone?

We're not sure. But it seems you get into trouble with the law only if the incitement has an immediate quality to it...if you were inciting a group of people that could take immediate action. Neiter of us has experience in murdering. Perhaps one of the conservatives on the thread could contribute their expertise in the matter.

What would happen if someone on the 'left' thought it would be a good idea to assassinate, say, Blair or the Iraqi PM?

I'm interested in knowing what would happen if someone were to promote that Pat Robertson should be assassinated.
