OK, I knew that one. I also knew the conclusion, that for whatever reason, Cro-Magnon and Neanderthalers did not cross bread. But that doesn't make their mDNA and them non human.

Unless you specifically relate to the lack of relations to modern human Homo Sapiens, because that seems to be well documented so far.

The Neanderthals could well have been the Trolls of the forest passed down as memory to modern man through 1,600-1,800 generations or so :)
