You wonder how many layers of debt are really out there. No doubt there is more than one finance guy out there who is the next Andy Fastow. More partnerships, offshore accounts, holding companies, intercompany journal entries, phony earnings with very high leverage, interest rate and credit risk plus no real cash flow. Way too much growth and easy money was flowing through this biz since 2001. Would watching for a ratings agency to put a company on credit watch or the auditors to drop the company be some warning signs of major trouble?
