Venezuela would be an incredibly profitable invasion for corporate America and the BFEE. They have larger oil sand deposits than Canada and haven't even started developing them. Also, they are not religious fanatics, so they will probably surrender after yet one more invasion of our Latin Playground by the hated yanquis. It is true that Venezuela and Brazil are preparing for war (Brazil?) and a US invasion. I have no idea why Brazil is doing it, as we haven't even made any false accusations about them, yet, which would give us a pretend reason to invade.

The downside is that other nations would agree that Latin America is a US dominated area, but the Chinese would see that as carte blanche to take care of their dominated area, which would include Taiwan. Our oil grab would also make the Russians and Chinese very nervous about their pipelines and their sources in the Stans and Iran.

But, since Venezuela would be a cleaner victory than Iraq can ever be, it might deflect attention from the Bush failures in everything else he has attempted.
