I can't find the power specs for "the fastest (3.4ghz)northwood" nor a Spec_int_rate for it. They could be going with 82w or 105w or 115w.

For 3.06 best SpecInt_rate was 14.1, but they could use a lower figure if they chose a different configuration.

And Conroe will use 65 watts, but they may have used a lower speed model for the comparison (your quote made a big deal about it being the "fastest" Norhwood but was mute about whether of not it was being compared to "a" Conroe or "the fastest Conroe".

Basically, there was so much wiggle room that you could be talking best case:

14.1 * 5 = 70.5 spec_int_rate if it were 5 times as fast, but it isn't, it's 5 times as fast, per watt.

It maxes out at 65/82 = 56 spec_int_rate for next years dual core Conroe.

Or worst case:

105 watt EE edition Northwood vs. "low power" Conroe

105/35 * 75? = 25 spec_int_rate.

Meanwhile, a server Opteron 275 running ECC buffered RAM and currently shipping in volume is 34.
