I would think they would test any new mods on the 90nm process first and then jump to 65nm to boost bin speeds.

I think the processes are probably somewhat different and that testing of the 65 nm process with whatever differences has already been going on.

Also I think the industry has learned the lesson that jumping to a new process node no longer automatically boosts bin speeds.

Given the secretive nature of the last couple of releases, maybe they are okay and are keeping close to the chest.

That is certainly a possibility. I'll leave it to you to guess at the likelyhood.
