The GM unions are encouraging union concessions after an almost completed (year long) audit of the GM books. $3.00+ gasoline on the horizon and a company that gets the vast majority of it's profits from pig SUVs.

Detroit is dead, their bonds are junk. They are years behind the curve... maybe they can catch up but I don't see how. It's a shame...

The Chrysler 300C is about 60% Mercedes parts.

Sure, and obviously the clever guy running Chrysler America (next CEO of DB, BTW) picked the 60% good parts from Mercedes only and added 40% to replace some of that junk DB has recently produced.
Because since at least 4-5 years Daimler Benz is (hopefully) fighting a long series of severe quality problems.
