If that's really the problem, then you take my advice and kill the stock threads and the problems that come with them. That's not such a problem anymore. Political discussion hasn't died down, but stock discussion has picked up, improving the ratio quite a bit. Ah! Now we're getting someplace! This is exactly what I would expect. Remember how well stock market volume correlates with common index values? This is simply another example. And since we have to operate profitably to be able to operate at all, it's a good thing because, as Dave mentioned, we see little income from Political threads. Only the Premium-Plus subscriptions. No ad revenues. This suggests that if you let non-premium members into the stock threads, you COULD get ad revenue from them and they would get an additional feature, attracting more of them. And maybe get yet more Premium members from them because some would pay not to see the ads and to get features such as Advanced Search (and whatever other cleverness is hiding inside that skull of yours that you haven't yet told us of.) People who see ads are reading market-related posts for the most part. But this is only because you have set it up that way. Give them full site access (maybe keeping the 5 post/day limit) but stick them with ads and quote those ad eyeballs to your advertisers. And you might even be able to attract non-market advertisers with this ploy."I suggested to your pardner Dave a long time ago that if you and he were so upset by the political threads, it was within your power to delete all that existed." It's not the political threads. It's a few of their denizens. I don't care that we don't make money from these threads so long as they don't make work for Dave. The few bad apples result in a LOT of work for him." Might I suggest that some of those denizens have reason to be upset by the implementation of the recent "clean hands" policy? This can be taken to mean that you are fair game for anything from anyone and can expect no justice from those who supposedly dispense it. All this does is encourage the bad guys to be worse because they are already labelled bad guys and, as long as they do not inspire termination, can do as they wish. Nothing will happen to them because their plaintiffs will be labelled equally guilty whether they are or not. Let me toss out another idea: How about giving the "justice" function to a panel of posters you regard as fair-minded or equally divided politically but willing to be fair. Complaints go to them. They pass on them and either have the power to suspend (termnation should probably be left in current Admin hands, but you could let them recommend it) or recommend such action to you and/or Dave? I think this would take most of this distraction away from you two and let you work on the site, with only ocassional involvement in the "justice system" function.
