Please list three reasons.

Because it infuriates retired SF types; because it infuriates retired SF types; because it infuriates retired SF types; well, you know the drill.

Go read Remnick's book on Russia in the 80s. You won't find better.

And then, you will love this, the panel session last fall, in The New Yorker symposiums, run each year, in which he and Sy Hersh simply sat on the stage and talked about the state of the world and editor/journalist relations. Well beyond memorable. Particularly since Hersh is the best investigative reporter ever, particularly since Woodward made the turn into hagiography sometime back, and Remnick may well turn out to be the best editor The New Yorker has ever had. And that's saying a bundle.

How about contributing something to these conversations rather than darts, Mike?
